What are my options for charging shipping?

There are three levels, from simplest to most flexible:

1. Manual shipping (Settings → Store Settings → Shipping Setup): choose Overall Product (one flat charge per order) or Per Product (each product's own shipping cost), and tick Offer free shipping above a minimum order amount to set a free-shipping threshold. This is enough for most new stores.
2. Shipping Zones (the Shipping Zone plugin): define regions by country, state or pincode, each with its own methods and rates; the shopper picks a method at checkout.
3. Shipping carriers: the Shipping Carriers add-on connects couriers such as Shiprocket, Delhivery, Blue Dart, UPS and Envia on the Shipping Setup page. They are used after the order is placed, to create shipments, labels and tracking. The checkout price still comes from manual shipping or your zones, not from the courier.

Start with manual shipping, place a test order to check the total, and move to zones when you need regional prices.
