Community guidelines

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This is a place for Wcart merchants, partners and developers to help each other. A few rules keep it useful.

Asking

  • Search first — your question may already have an accepted answer.
  • Use a specific title. “Tax not applied to shipping in one state” gets answered; “Help!” does not.
  • Choose 1 to 3 categories that match your question, so the right people find it.
  • Say what you were trying to do, what you tried, and what happened instead.
  • One problem per question — it is easier to answer.
  • Accept the answer that solved it, so the next person can find it.

Answering

  • Answer the question that was asked. Concrete steps beat general advice.
  • You can post one answer per question — to add more, edit your answer.
  • Keep answers to 1,000 words or fewer.
  • Vote up answers that helped you; vote down ones that are wrong, not ones you merely dislike.

Formatting

  • You can use bold, italic, links, bulleted and numbered lists, and quotes.
  • Code is not allowed in questions or answers — no code blocks, HTML tags or script links. Describe the steps in plain words instead.
  • Pasted text is added as plain text.

Not allowed

  • Spam, advertising and link-dropping. Posts with more than five links are rejected automatically.
  • Posting the same answer again and again, writing in all capitals, or repeating characters or words to get attention.
  • Harassment, abuse, or content that is hateful, sexual or illegal.
  • Personal data — yours or anyone else’s. Never post passwords, API keys, card details or a customer’s address.
  • Impersonating Wcart staff or another member.
  • Using bots or scripts to post, vote or report.

New accounts

Until an account is a day old or has made a few posts, it can post up to 3 questions and 10 answers a day, and include one link per answer. Everyone waits 30 seconds between two answers. These limits keep spam out and lift on their own as you take part.

Wcart Team

Posts marked Wcart Team come from Wcart staff and community moderators. They answer questions, may edit a post to fix formatting or remove personal data, and keep the community on topic.

Reports and moderation

Use Report on any question or answer that breaks these rules. An item reported by three different members is hidden until a moderator reviews it. Moderators may hide posts, close threads, and suspend accounts that keep breaking the rules; a suspended member can still read but cannot post, answer or vote.

Notifications

The bell at the top of the page tells you when someone answers your question or accepts your answer. Notifications are shown on this site only — we do not email them.

Getting official support

Community answers come from members and the Wcart Team. For account, billing or store-specific problems, contact Wcart support from your admin dashboard.
