How does Sales by Location decide the state and country, and why do some rows show a dash?

I want to see which states order the most, but a few rows have — instead of a state name.

Sales by Location groups orders by the State and Country saved on each order's shipping address. Each row shows State, Country, Orders and Revenue, with the highest revenue first and a chart of the top 10.

A dash means that part of the address was empty on those orders, for example an order with no state entered. They are grouped together in their own row.

To open it:

  1. Open Marketing → Marketing Home and click the Reports tile under Measure.
  2. Click Sales by Location at the bottom of the page.
  3. Pick the date range. Use Export CSV to download the rows.
