Can I offer Cash on Delivery alongside online payments?

Many of my customers prefer to pay when the parcel arrives. Is Cash on Delivery supported, and can it run next to a card gateway?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is a built-in payment method and works next to any online gateway you enable.

  • Turn it on under Settings → Store Settings → Payment Gateway. COD is the first row of the payment methods table.
  • Shoppers then see it as an option at checkout, alongside any online gateways you have enabled.

If you use the Delivery Restrictions plugin and turn on Restrict COD by pincode, its pincode checker shows a "Cash on Delivery not available here" notice for pincodes where you don't offer COD. This is a notice only; it doesn't remove COD from checkout.
