Can I change how a payment method is named at checkout?

I'd like checkout to say "Pay with card / UPI" instead of the gateway's name, and "Pay at the door" instead of Cash on Delivery.

Yes. On Settings → Store Settings → Payment Gateway, click Configure on the method:

  • Online gateways: change Payment Gateway Name, then click Submit. Shoppers see this name at checkout. While the gateway is in Sandbox, "(test mode)" is shown next to it.
  • Cash on Delivery: change Title and click Save Changes.
  • Bank Transfer and UPI: change Title. Their Instructions are shown to the customer on the order confirmation page, next to your bank details or UPI QR code.

Some fields are saved but not yet shown to shoppers. These are a gateway's Payment Gateway Description, and the COD Description and Instructions. Under COD, checkout shows a fixed line: "Pay in cash when your order is delivered."
