Why does checkout show "(test mode)" next to my payment gateway?

Customers can see the words test mode beside Stripe on my checkout page.

That label appears when the gateway is set to Sandbox. Sandbox payments use your test keys, so no real money is collected.

To start taking real payments:

  1. Go to Settings → Store Settings → Payment Gateway and click Configure on the gateway.
  2. Change Live / Sandbox to Live.
  3. Fill in the Live key fields if they are empty. The required ones must be filled before you can save.
  4. Click Submit.

The "(test mode)" label disappears once the gateway is in Live mode.
