Why do I get "A product with this name already exists" when I save?

Each product in your store must have its own name. The check ignores capital letters and extra spaces at the ends, so "Cotton Kurta" and "cotton kurta " count as the same name.

To fix it, change the Title so it is different, for example "Cotton Kurta – Blue" or "Cotton Kurta Short Sleeve", then click Save.

Products in Trash are not included in this check. If the old product is only in Trash, you can reuse its name. A product that is a Draft still counts, so rename or trash the draft first if you want to reuse its name.
