What's the difference between a Fixed amount coupon and a Fixed amount per item coupon?

I want 50 off each T-shirt in the cart, not 50 off the whole order. Which type do I pick?

In Marketing → Coupons, the Type decides how the discount is worked out:

  • Fixed amount: one flat amount off the whole cart.
  • Fixed amount per item: a flat amount off each eligible unit, multiplied by quantity. Three T-shirts at 50 each means 150 off.
  • Percentage (%): a percent off, from 0 to 100.
  • Free shipping: removes the shipping charge and ignores the value.

For per-item or percentage coupons, set Max discount (cap) so a big cart can't take off too much. Use Product eligibility to limit it to T-shirts, then click Save coupon.
