What is the "variants" badge on my product cards, and why does it count sizes I switched off?

Every Variable product card gets a small pill at the bottom-left of the photo, for example 6 variants. Hovering it opens an Available options list showing up to 5 variants with their price, plus a View all 6 variants link when there are more. Clicking an option opens the product page with that option already picked.

The number counts every row in the product's Variants table, including rows where Active is unticked. Those rows still show in the hover list too, but shoppers who pick them get an Out of Stock button.

If you no longer sell an option at all, remove it instead of switching it off:

1. Open the product and go to the Variants card.
2. Click × on the value, for example "XL". This deletes every row that uses it.
3. Click Save.
