How do I add more than one photo to a product?

A product has a featured image (the main one) plus a gallery of up to 4 more images. Both are in the product's Media section, where you can upload new photos or pick ones already in your library.

For a Variable product, each variant can also have its own image, so choosing "Blue" on the storefront can show the blue one.
