Google Merchant Center suddenly cannot fetch my product feed. What should I check?

It worked for weeks and now Merchant Center reports a fetch error.

First check the channel is still Enabled on the Sales Channels plugin page. Then compare the Feed URL shown there with the one in Merchant Center. If someone clicked Regenerate token, the old URL stopped working straight away, so copy the new URL into Merchant Center. Also check Sync logs for errors and make sure the Sales Channels plugin is still active.
