Do I have to paste my reCAPTCHA secret key again every time I save the settings?

I only wanted to tick another form to protect, but the secret key box is empty and I no longer have the key handy.

No. Once a secret key is saved it is stored encrypted and never shown again. On Plugins → Recaptcha the label reads Secret key (stored — leave blank to keep).

  1. Leave Secret key empty.
  2. Change what you need, for example tick another form under Where to show it.
  3. Click Save.

The stored key is kept. Only type a new secret key when you are replacing your keys, for example after creating new ones in Google for a different version.
