Can I switch off a customer group's discount for a while without deleting the group?

I want to pause my wholesale pricing during a sale and turn it back on afterwards.

Yes.

  1. Go to Customers → Customer Groups and click Edit on the group.
  2. Untick Active.
  3. Click Save group.

The group now shows Disabled in the list. Its discount and free shipping stop applying at checkout, but the members stay assigned. To bring it back, tick Active again and save.

While a group is disabled it is not offered in the Customer Group drop-down on customer profiles.
