Can I give a customer group free shipping without any discount?

My trade buyers pay full price, but I want their orders to ship free.

Yes. With the Customer Groups plugin:

  1. Go to Customers → Customer Groups and click + Add group (or Edit an existing group).
  2. Enter the Group name.
  3. Tick Free shipping for this group and make sure Active is ticked.
  4. Leave Discount rules empty.
  5. Click Add group (or Save group).

Then assign customers to the group from their profile. Shipping is set to zero at checkout for those customers when they are signed in. The group list shows Yes under Free shipping.
