A customer forgot their password. Can I set a new one for them from the admin?

An older customer cannot manage the reset steps on their own and asked me to sort it out.

Yes.

  1. Go to Customers → Manage Customers and open the customer.
  2. Click the Change Password tab.
  3. Enter the New password and type it again in Confirm password (at least 6 characters).
  4. Tick Email the new login details to the customer if you want Wcart to send it to the email on file.
  5. Click Update password (the button reads Update & send login details when the box is ticked).

They can sign in with the new password straight away. The old password cannot be shown or re-sent because it is stored hashed, not as readable text.
