I fixed my share picture, but WhatsApp still shows the old preview. Why?

I added a new image in the Share Launch Kit, yet the link I posted yesterday still shows a blank card.

Chat apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook remember the preview card of a link for a while. A fix can take a few hours to show on links you already shared. New posts of the link pick up the new picture sooner.

Also check where you made the fix:

  • The whole website: the Default share image and Store description you change on the Share Launch Kit page save straight away, and the preview on the page updates.
  • A product or A category: the fix link opens the product or category form in a new tab. Save it there, then reload the Share Launch Kit page to see the updated preview.

For the store image, a picture of 1200 x 630 pixels fits best.
