I edited my robots.txt but my store is still blocked from search engines. Why?

I saved a custom robots.txt allowing everything, but Search Console still says my pages are blocked.

Check Search Engine Visibility. When it's set to No, your whole store stays blocked from search engines, whatever your custom robots.txt says.

  1. Go to Settings → Web Settings → General Settings.
  2. Set Search Engine Visibility to Yes.
  3. Click Submit.

Your robots.txt from Settings → SEO Settings → SEO Tools is then used as written. After that, ask Google to check again from Search Console, and give it a few days to recrawl your pages.
