Can tapping a section on my app home screen open a category?

I'd like shoppers who tap my Festive Picks section to land on that category's product list inside the app.

Yes, set a redirection on the section.

  1. Go to Settings → App Settings → Mobile Home Screen and click Edit on the section.
  2. Set Redirection Type to App Screen.
  3. Type the Button Text shoppers will tap.
  4. In Screen Types, choose Category based Products.
  5. In Choose Category for redirection, enter the category's slug (the last part of its web address).
  6. Click Update section.

Screen Types can also open Shop, Shop by Category, Shop by Tag, Tag based Products or Product Page. To open a website instead, choose External Link and fill in External Link.
